How a dream in October 2018 became reality in December 2022!
Ryan and I are both fascinated by dreams. He is a lucid dreaming practitioner and I am more into analyzing and finding signs in my dreams.
Only ten months into our relationship, I had a dream that Ryan asked me to marry him. In the dreamworld, he proposed with a very specific ring that was just my style. I had to make sure it was recorded in my dream journal, which had been suggested by Ryan in the first place.
I wasn’t afraid to tell Ryan about the dream back then, even though it was so early in our relationship. When we’d talk about getting married and him proposing, we would often reference our memory of me having the dream.
After the dream came true, I searched my old bookshelf and everywhere I could for the old journal, and eventually found it!
The design of this ring never really left me, although apparently it morphed in my mind over time. By the time we were shopping for rings, the design evolved into something even better. A black diamond with two clear diamonds, and it is golden and exactly my style.
Pearly pieces in rings aren’t practical for many reasons, and onyx is surprisingly hard to find, but I’m still considering trying to find something with them for a wedding band.
I am obsessed with it. I look down at it sparkling and it makes me happy. Not many people know about the existence of black diamonds, never mind have a black diamond engagement ring!
Marry a weirdo!
